Velký Rybník – Nature, Culture and Traditions
Water, paths and local history become apparent in Velký Rybník through specific sites. The three ponds, the forest with its tourist route, as well as the chapel and war memorial provide different starting points for exploring the locality. The three named ponds Návesní, Otavník and Horkáč belong to Velký Rybník. Horkáč is a natural swimming pond in Velký Rybník; in winter, it is also possible to ice-skate there. The locality thus combines named bodies of water with seasonally different uses.
Nature
Several specific places and their different characteristics stand side by side in relation to nature. Rousínovský les is crisscrossed by paths for walking and cycling tourism. Vlčí studánka is one of the sights near the tourist route in Rousínovský les. Jankovský potok is protected as a national natural monument and forms part of the European protected area of the same name. Rousínovský les, Vlčí studánka and Jankovský potok thus represent paths, a sight and a protection status, respectively. These differences make the natural selection of the locality factually comprehensible without equating the three sites.
Culture and Traditions
The cultural references range from a single building to a central place of remembrance. The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk in Velký Rybník is a small sacred building from the 18th century with a square floor plan. In the centre of Velký Rybník stands the memorial to those who fell in the First World War; it commemorates those who fell between 1914 and 1918. The chapel and memorial thus demonstrate different forms of local remembrance: a sacred building with a clear basic shape and a public memorial in the centre of the locality.
The traditions also bring together different temporal and formal levels. The Pálení Čarodějnic festival takes place every year in Velký Rybník; on 30 April 2024, it was scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. at the usual venue. At a Maypole celebration in Velký Rybník, the maypole was decorated, guarded and later felled. Pomlázka can be classified as part of the traditional Easter customs in Velký Rybník. The references differ in terms of occasion and sequence: the festival takes place annually, while the Maypole celebration consists of several actions.

For a hotel in Velký Rybník, travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions are separate details alongside the information about the locality. The accommodation decision can thus be considered separately from the three ponds, the paths in Rousínovský les, the places of remembrance and the traditions. For categorising the stay, these details remain factually separate and concern the accommodation, while the information about the locality concerns sights, the natural area, history and traditions.
