Kyselovice: Church, Sports and Hotels

Kyselovice combines local history, a nature competition for children, sports and events. The village landscape and the schedule of events in Kyselovice include religious structures and monuments, outdoor challenges, races, team competitions and traditional slaughter specialties.

Culture

Among the four crosses in Kyselovice is a Baroque cross from 1769, the oldest of the four. Outside Kyselovice, a cross from 1894 stands on the road towards Chropyně. The cemetery cross is made of Carrara marble and probably dates from around 1900. There is also a marble cross from 1906 by the Church of sv. Andělů Strážných.

The Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Kyselovice dates from the second quarter of the 18th century. It stands opposite the former school in the middle of the village green. The Baroque statue of Saint Vendelín in Kyselovice also dates from 1769; it is located at a junction of state roads.

The Church of sv. Andělů Strážných was built between 1904 and 1906 in the Neo-Gothic style. Its unusual north–south orientation is one of its architectural features, as is the 37-metre-high tower in the entrance area. At Christmas, church consecration festivals and the Feast of Corpus Christi, the choir of Občanská beseda Kyselovice performs in the church gallery.

Nature

Medvědí stezkou is a traditional nature competition for children in Kyselovice. The event route runs along field roads, forest paths and through densely wooded terrain. It includes practical outdoor tasks such as knot-tying, map navigation and building fire pits.

Sports and Events

The mixed-doubles tennis tournament in Kyselovice has been an established tradition since 2005. Both tennis courts were used for this tournament. The “O Zlatou proudnici Hané” competition includes a relay for two-person teams. On 26 April 2025, the 20th edition of this competition took place in Kyselovice; it was organised by Sbor dobrovolných hasičů Kyselovice.

The traditional Sportovní odpoledne in Kyselovice took place on the sports field. The main event of the Sportovní odpoledne is a Bränball tournament for mixed teams. At Kyselovská tretra 2026, there were short-distance races as well as an endurance run. Throwing competitions with grenades and tennis balls were also part of the programme.

Cuisine

At Vepřové hody 2025 in Kyselovice, traditional butcher's products were sold, soup was served and meals were provided. There was also a tasting of slaughter specialties.
