Skaštice is located in the fertile Hornomoravský úval plain. Fishing competitions and a Masopust carnival take place in Skaštice every year.
Landscape
At the edge of Skaštice lies Plavisko Pond, with a fishing lodge and a recreational area.
Culture
St. Florian's Church in Skaštice was originally built as a chapel in 1856 and expanded into a church in 1873. It is a rectangular filial church with a square tower above the façade and a sacristy arranged on the same axis. The church is owned by the municipality of Skaštice.
The local religious heritage in the municipality of Skaštice includes five stone crosses. There is also a statue of Saint Anne in the municipality. House No. 18 has a restored original façade featuring motifs of Cyril and Methodius. The former school building from 1895 is a cultural monument.
Traditions and Local Events
During the Masopust carnival in Skaštice, participants, including members of the Skaštická chasa folk group, dress up as various figures. Led by a bear, they go from house to house.
Spring events include the traditional Josefovský košt. Homemade fruit spirits such as slivovitz and apricot brandy, as well as other less common homemade alcoholic drinks, are presented in a competition for the best homemade spirit. The Josefovský košt traditionally took place on 6 April in an old pub and attracted both locals and visitors from surrounding villages.
On 30 April 2025, a traditional witch-burning event took place at Plavisko Pond in Skaštice, featuring a children's disco, attractions and sausage roasting.
Getting There
Skaštice is located about 4 km from a major motorway junction providing connections to the north, south and west. A railway station on an international rail corridor with direct connections to Prague can be reached from Skaštice by car within 10 minutes.

The paved cycle path between Břest and Skaštice is just under 2 km long in total. The Skaštice–Břest cycle path was opened with a public cycling event.
Also pay attention to the included services, individual price components, and booking and cancellation conditions. Especially when travelling with several people, checking the occupancy provides a clear basis for comparison; it should likewise be clear which services are included in the price. In addition, check the stated location, the type of accommodation and the number of people specified for the selected period. Also compare whether taxes, fees and other costs are shown separately or already included in the total. Compare these fields directly with one another before making your decision. This keeps the differences between individual hotel offers transparent, even when carefully weighing up the costs.
