Žítková: Hotels and the Moravské Kopanice Educational Trail

The main loop of the Moravské Kopanice Educational Trail is 11.6 km long and has an elevation gain of 410 m. The branch to Lokov is 4.7 km long and has an elevation gain of 110 m. The branch to Hutě covers 1.1 km and has an elevation gain of 50 m. Including the branches, the total length is 23.1 km. This means that different-length sections and varying elevation gains are found within the same educational trail, while the aforementioned activities range from hiking and mountain biking to cross-country skiing in winter.

The Hutě Nature Reserve protects an ecologically valuable landscape, particularly significant plant and animal communities. Along the route of the Moravské Kopanice Educational Trail, it is considered the most valuable protected area. The reserve overlaps with the Bílé Karpaty European protected area (3314) and the Bílé Karpaty Protected Landscape Area (71). There are also protected orchid meadows in Žítková. Thus, within the municipality, the protected Hutě area with its plant and animal communities and the protected meadows exist alongside one another as distinct natural features.

Visitors can still find a group of original houses in Žítková. The information centre with a minimuseum in Žítková provides tourist maps and a leaflet with tourist routes. The Chapel of Our Lady of Kopanice was built in 1990 and consecrated on 8 September 1991. It is dedicated to Our Lady of Kopanice, Saints Cyril and Methodius, Agnes of Bohemia and Saint Zdislava of Lämberg. The altar features a statue of Our Lady of Kopanice with the Child, wearing the traditional dress of the Kopaničáři.

Sýr od kapličky at Žítková house no. 201 is run by the Šustekovi couple. Sheep's milk is processed there, sheep's milk products are made and sold, and light refreshments are also offered. The products and refreshments are available from April to October; outside this period, they are usually unavailable. Sýr od kapličky offers sheep's cheese, bryndza, žinčica and oštiepok.
