Stříbrnice: Nature Park, Churches and Hotels
In Stříbrnice, the Stříbrnické paseky are an area of considerable landscape and natural importance that was declared a nature park in 1993. The character of the paseky settlement has been preserved there to this day. The area is dry and benefits from a warm climate; layers of windblown loess and sand allow many heat-loving plants and animals to thrive there.
Culture
The Chapel of St. Prokop and the Church of St. Prokop form a distinct historical aspect of the village. The chapel is a High Baroque chapel built in 1749–1750. It has a bell cast in Brno in 1692, which is still in use today. The chapel was fully restored in 2009.
The Church of St. Prokop was consecrated on 11 November 1908. It is a Neo-Romanesque church with a portal decorated with an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus etched in glass. The main tower of the Church of St. Prokop is 33.30 metres high. Thus, Stříbrnice has a High Baroque chapel and a later-consecrated Neo-Romanesque church standing side by side, each with clearly identified features.
Routes
From Stříbrnice, a walking and cycling excursion leads through the Stříbrnické paseky to the nearby Smrďavka recreational area, which includes Lázně Leopoldov. The Velkomoravská pilgrimage trail cycle route also runs through the Stříbrnické paseky. This route is four kilometres long and follows the original pilgrimage route to Velehrad exactly.
One of the prominent features in the area is the Čertovo sedlo rock formation, located in the forest of the Stříbrnické paseky. Connections from Stříbrnice to Uherské Hradiště are available for travel to the surrounding places, as is a connection from Uherské Hradiště via Stříbrnice to Osvětimany.
