Podolí: Nature, Culture and Hotels in the Czech Republic

The Mokřady a tůně in Podolí are intended for quiet recreation, walks and observing wildlife. A field path has been laid along one side of the wetlands. With suitable snow cover, quiet cycling tours or cross-country skiing at the Mokřady a tůně can be a pleasant addition to a winter day.

Culture

The Chapel of the Holy Spirit was built between 1999 and 2006. It has a narrow, tall tower; its architectural concept is based on the idea of an open embrace. The Chapel of the Holy Spirit Association organizes the Svatodušní pouť every year.

The Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary, also called Kaplička or zvonice, was built in 1909 on the site of an older wooden belfry. The Duchovní a relaxační areál in Podolí is also part of the local cultural heritage. It is connected by a footpath to the children's playground on Záhumní Street and includes two wrought-iron sculptures by Víťa Bobčík, a blacksmith and artist from Podolí.

Cycling

Podolí is the starting and finishing point of two named cycling circuits. The first circuit is called “Podolí - Uherské Hradiště - Modrá - Bunč - Tabarky - Spytihněv - Uherské Hradiště - Podolí” and starts and ends in Podolí. The second is called “Podolí - Hradčovice - Bílovice - Napajedla - Babice - Uherské Hradiště - Podolí”; this cycling circuit also starts and ends in Podolí.

Nature and Landscape

The Olšava Nature Monument preserves the last remaining natural, unregulated section of the Olšava River. Lovisko, a mountain, lies in the immediate vicinity of Podolí. Rovnáhora, Kobylí Hlava and Loučka are mountains in the area around Podolí. Thus, the landscape-related names extend from the protected river section to several mountains with different geographical affiliations.

Buildings in the Wider Surrounding Region

The wider regional surroundings of Podolí include several historic buildings with different designations. Hrad Buchlov is a castle, Starý Světlov a ruin, Zámek Lešná a château and Svatá Barbora a church. Each of the four places belongs to the wider regional surroundings of Podolí, without this more precisely defining their geographical relationship to one another.

For planning purposes, hotels and other offers can initially be compared side by side. Before booking, it is worth checking the exact location, the type of accommodation and the intended occupancy. Included services, individual price components and the applicable booking and cancellation conditions can also be reviewed. The selected travel dates and the desired length of stay should likewise be checked in the respective offers. This makes it possible to understand the differences between the options based on the conditions actually stated. Checking these fields does not replace a statement about a specific property and does not turn the listed local features into any guarantee of availability, amenities or suitability.
