Hošťálková: Hotels and Accommodation

Hošťálková lies 9 km west of Vsetín in the valley of the Ratibořka and its tributaries. The settlement is scattered across the hilly terrain of the Hostýnské vrchy, combining a dispersed village structure with distinctive landscapes. The nearest railway station to Hošťálková is located in Jablůnka.

Landscape and Views

The summit of Bludný offers views of Kelčský Javorník, the Hostýnské vrchy and the Javorníky. Rare plants grow on the grassy slopes of Bludný, particularly on the northern slope.

The two-storey wooden Rozhledna Maruška observation tower stands at an altitude of 664 m, is 16 m high and has been open to the public since 2014. Its covered observation platform, 12 m above the ground, offers a panoramic view of the Hostýnské vrchy, the Vizovické vrchy, the Javorníky, the Moravskoslezské Karpaty, the Beskydy, the Vsetínské vrchy, Kelčský Javorník, Radhošť with Pustevny, Lysá hora, Kohútka and Hošťálková.

Erosion has formed honeycomb-like structures, overhangs, ledges, ridges, crevices and a small rock window in the whitish, locally honey-coloured rocks of Čertovy Skály. The Výhledové okno is located along a route from the centre of Hošťálková towards Čertovy Skály. It can be reached by bus to the “Hošťálková, tělocvična” stop or by car; parking spaces are available in the village centre.

Trails and Cycling Infrastructure

At 27 km, the Naučná stezka Tesák is the longest educational trail in Valašsko. Along the route are 23 stations presenting the natural attractions of the Vsetínsko region and the main ridge of the Hostýnské vrchy; the route is suitable for pedestrians and cyclists.

A demanding climb of almost 5 km leads from Hošťálková Chateau to Rozhledna Maruška. From the Na Trojáku saddle, the observation tower can be reached via a walk of approximately 2 km. Both routes are suitable for road bikes.

Wooden rest areas with integrated information boards, modern bicycle boxes powered by solar energy and bicycle service stands have been installed in Hošťálková.

Culture and Villagescape

The Roman Catholic Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Hošťálková dates from 1798. The chateau in Hošťálková is a building in the late Classicist style dating from the mid-19th century.

Rural farmstead No. 16 in Hošťálková has been a cultural monument since 1999 and is considered the last surviving example of timber folk architecture of a uniform type of the original Valašsko house in the village centre.

A stone toleration chapel in the Neoclassical style was built in Hošťálková in 1831; inside is a valuable baptismal font from 1791.
