Lešná: Hotels and accommodation

The English-style park surrounding Lešná Château covers approximately 7.22 hectares and contains an extensive collection, especially of exotic trees and shrubs.

Culture and history

Lešná is home to the Church of St. Michael the Archangel, with two ceiling frescoes from 1750 and an organ from 1885. The Bessova Chapel, dating from 1827, is located by the church; it contains three burial sites. The Kinských Chapel, dating from 1892–1893, also stands by the church. Six burial sites are located to the left of the chapel.

A Stations of the Cross with five chapels once ran along the former field road to Vysoká, two of which have been preserved. The visitor attractions at Lešná Château include the “Tribute to the Kinskýs” exhibition and the “Banknotes from Around the World” exhibition. A historical classroom has been open in the former black kitchen on the ground floor of Lešná Château since 6 October 2012. It commemorates the fact that a school was once housed in the château.

Park and nature

An educational trail through the park of Lešná Château provides information about local plants, the history of the park and other sights. The Oprchlice, Trojačka and Kamenárka mountains are located in the vicinity of Lešná.

The wider region around Lešná also includes the natural rock arch Freescale Semiconductor Roznov, the Lukov Castle ruins and the Church of Svatá Marie.

Visiting

At the Church of St. Michael the Archangel, guided tours take place from May to September on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 16:00. Lešná Château also has a playroom for children. A tour of the Lešná château park takes 60–90 minutes.
