Culture and History

The První Valašské motomuzeum in Seninka presents a collection on the history of the motorcycle industry in former Czechoslovakia. Folk architecture with numerous wooden houses, chambers, and cellars has been preserved in Seninka. Some place names are traditionally associated with a visit by Emperor Joseph II.

Fruit drying has a long tradition in Seninka. There used to be around 25 Wallachian fruit dryers here; fruit, especially plums, was dried for up to five weeks. Dried fruit from the Seninka fruit dryers was eaten directly, used in various dishes, and sold at markets when there was a surplus.

In the wider regional surroundings of Seninka are Zámek Lešná Chateau, the Zřícenina Lukov ruins, the Starý Světlov ruins, and Svatá Marie Church.

Trails and Views

The Vartovna educational trail is 7 km long and leads through seven stations to sights and information about the history of Seninka, Valašská Polanka, and other places along the route.

The Vartovna lookout tower is a 37-meter-high spiral steel tower. From the Vartovna lookout tower, there are views of the Vsetín, Hostýn, and Vizovice Mountains; in good weather, the Beskids, the Buchlov Mountains, Velká Fatra, and the Roháče are also visible.

Landscape

The mountains of Kopřivná, Svéradov, Kláštov, and Lysný [Janová] lie in the surroundings of Seninka. The area also features flowering meadows, rare forest orchids, numerous protected bird species, a sulfur spring, and old trees.
