Valašské Meziříčí combines stargazing with château culture, exhibitions, and experiences in nature. Château Culture
The large Baroque château “Zámek Žerotínů” is located in the center of Valašské Meziříčí; its foundation dates back to 1538. The southern wing houses the Muzejní a galerijní centrum with a historical exhibition. The château courtyard is designed as a French park.
The “Zámek Žerotínů” château complex is a cultural center of the city and offers a varied programme year-round. During school holidays, festivals, concerts, and film screenings are held in its courtyard.
The “Zámek Kinských” château houses the interactive permanent exhibition “Člověk v krajině, krajina v lidech”. It explores the changing relationship between people and the Valašsko landscape, from the arrival of the first prehistoric hunters in the region to the present day. The château also houses a branch of the Muzeum regionu Valašsko. An amphitheater at the château serves primarily as a venue for cultural events in summer.
Park and Nature
The “Naučná stezka Zámecký park Kinských” educational trail leads through the park and includes ten stops about the park’s origins, its history, and its natural value.
Crafts and Regional Cuisine
The Muzeum řeznictví is fully accessible and presents the history of the butcher’s trade through an interactive exhibition of butchery machinery and equipment. With advance booking, visitors can sample meat and smoked specialties from MP Krásno, a. s. and the local Řeznictví H+H, as well as regional beer from the Paličák microbrewery during a guided tour.
