Branky: Hotels and accommodations

In Branky, two châteaux tell the story of different construction phases. The so-called old château probably originated in the 18th century through the conversion of an earlier fortress and now serves as the municipal office. At the beginning of the 18th century, František Erasmus Lockner z Lockenau had the new château built as a Baroque knight’s residence. A historicist renovation at the end of the 19th century under its then owner, Dr. Hans Huber, gave it its present appearance. In the 1930s, the sculptor and painter Josef Siegel created the unique interior furnishings of the new château at the request of its then owner.

Culture and history

The parish Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary in Branky was consecrated in 1787. In front of the parish church stands a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1734, created by Max. Lockner of Lokenav.

Château park and nature

The château park in Branky forms part of the cultural monument. The revitalized château park is fully accessible. The well-maintained park includes numerous valuable trees and shrubs, a pond, and a summer amphitheater.

Between Branky and Poličná, the meanders of the Loučka stream form an almost two-kilometer-long stretch. The protected kingfisher breeds in this section. Modrý rybníček in Branky serves as a refuge for amphibians and is an area of entomological significance.

The marked Route 6216 leads from Poličná along the Loučka stream to Branky. From the Bečva cycling route, a cycling tour of approximately five kilometers leads via Abácie Park and Poličná along the Loučka stream to Branky.
