Culture

Ploština is a former Pasekář settlement in the cadastral area of the municipality of Drnovice, located 3 km north of Drnovice. In the 1970s, Ploština was declared a National Cultural Monument. The site includes a memorial to the victims of the Second World War and the occupation from the Zlín district. It was built in 1975 and extensively reconstructed in 2008.

The permanent exhibition “Pasekář Settlement of Ploština” is located at the memorial. Drnovice itself is home to the Church of Saint Agnes of Bohemia. It is a modern Catholic subsidiary church, built in 1990 and consecrated on July 21, 1991.

Drnovická vyhlídka is a tourist viewpoint and rest area. It was built in 2023 on a hill between Drnovice and the Ploština settlement. The site includes a year-round accessible, barrier-free outdoor exhibition.

Another notable viewpoint is Rozhledna Drnovice, a freely accessible wooden observation tower 8 m high. A 1.8 km cycling tour with an elevation gain of 100 m is indicated for the tower; it is designated for MTB, cross, and road bikes.
