Vlachova Lhota: Folk Architecture, Trails and Culture
Vlachova Lhota lies on the southern edge of the Vizovice Hills. The village combines Wallachian folk architecture, sacred art, exhibitions, memorial sites and trails through the surrounding area.
Culture
House No. 44 represents the Wallachian folk architecture of the 19th century. It is a single-storey log building on a stone foundation. Another attraction in the village is the Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, dating from 1739.
The Ploština Microregion Firefighting Museum is located in the municipal building at No. 81. The permanent exhibition “Řídící učitel Janeček a jeho žáci” was also opened in Vlachova Lhota on 5 May 2012. On the same day, a reconstructed memorial to the victims of the Second World War was unveiled. Part of the original furnishings has also been preserved in Podelhotský mlýn.
Trails
The marked local educational trail “KOLA, KOPYTA, BOTY” runs through Vlachova Lhota. A cycle path also runs through Vlachova Lhota. For horse riders, the HYJÉ KONĚ Zlín Region route is relevant; it also passes through the village.
Vlachova Lhota is also a stop on Tour No. 4, “Po stopách pirátské řeky”. The village therefore appears not only as an individual destination, but also as part of a route connecting several stops. The trails and routes mentioned are among the specific geographical links that can be directly traced in the village.
The trail options have different names and functions: the educational trail is designated as a local marked trail, while the cycle path and riding route each refer to their own form of transport. Tour No. 4 adds a route with several stops to these local connections. Taken together, the information shows that Vlachova Lhota features both on a local educational trail and in independent cycling and riding connections, as well as in a broader tour route.
