Discover Mysločovice: Cycling Routes and Medieval Traces

Mysločovice combines lowland landscape in the Svodnice catchment area with predominantly agricultural, hilly terrain. The surviving core of the medieval fortress rises in places up to 5 m above the surrounding terrain and is 23 m long and 13 m wide.

Landscape

At 285 m above sea level, Háj Hill is the highest point in the Mysločovice area. The landscape and this high point give the locality two clearly identifiable geographical reference points.

Cycling

Cyklopark Mysločovice is a small, entertaining singletrack that even young children can manage while also appealing to experienced mountain bikers. It offers a varied route through the trees, with climbs and technical descents; some sections cross wooden bridges over gullies and depressions. Marked cycling route No. 5034 from Fryšták to Kelč also passes through the cadastral area of Mysločovice. In autumn 2011, a new unmarked cycling route was opened, connecting Mysločovice and Sazovice; it is approximately 1 km long and is also intended for pedestrians.

For planning a day, the routes can be distinguished by their character: the singletrack combines climbs and technical descents, while marked cycling route No. 5034 and the unmarked connection to Sazovice represent different types of route; the connection between Mysločovice and Sazovice is approximately 1 km long. Culture and History

An archaeological mound was discovered in the centre of Mysločovice on the grounds of Farm No. 9 and identified as the core of a medieval fortress with an earthen rampart. An oval Gothic vault keystone is set into the brick wall of the barn on the same farm; its underside bears a stylised Gothic tracery motif.

Palkův mlýn is mentioned around 1409, when it was owned by Jiřík z Kunštátu and his sister Žofka. Some original equipment has been preserved in the mill. The Church of the Holy Trinity, “Kostel Nejsvětější Trojice”, was built from 1752 to 1758 on a rise in the centre of Mysločovice. Its furnishings include restored Baroque organs; the lime trees around the church are protected under nature conservation legislation.

The Chapel of St John of Nepomuk, “Kaple sv. Jana Nepomuckého”, was built in 1730. On 14 February 1994, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic declared the chapel a cultural monument.

Traditions

Every year, the SDH maintains the Shrovetide custom of “vodění medvěda” in Mysločovice. Another tradition is the “Staré hanácké právo”, held every ten years in Haná folk costumes. The dates listed are 1928, 1949, 1965, 1977, 1987, 1997, 2007 and most recently 2017.
