Tlumačov: Church, Stud Farm and Nature
In the centre of Tlumačov, on the main road, stands the parish Church of St Martin of Tours and Sabaria. Its construction is generally dated to the reign of Wenceslaus I (1230–1253), or more specifically to the second quarter of the 13th century; it may have been built in the period following the Mongol invasion of Moravia, that is, after 1241. A church tower was added to the church in 1585; it burned down in 1691 and was restored as early as 1695. It has an aligned layout with a recessed rectangular presbytery and a massive bell tower on the west façade. A Baroque stone crucifix stands in front of its entrance.
Culture
The Tlumačov Stud Farm is an important technical monument whose present form has been preserved from approximately the beginning of the 20th century; before that, an 18th-century farmyard had been converted into a stud farm. The complex is arranged around two large courtyards. The entire Tlumačov Stud Farm, including its important buildings, was declared a cultural monument on 15 July 2011. Public guided tours pass through the historic stables and the buildings included in the cultural monument. By prior arrangement, the stud farm also offers carriage rides lasting approximately 60 minutes.
Nature
On the western edge of Tlumačov, the Tlumačovská tůňka lies on the right-hand side of the road to Kvasice. The pond and its immediate surroundings serve as a breeding area for the edible frog, marsh frog, common toad, European tree frog, fire-bellied toad and grass snake. The Tlumačovská tůňka protects endangered and legally protected amphibian species, as well as threatened species of freshwater algae and cyanobacteria.
Cycling
From Tlumačov, a family-friendly, approximately 12-kilometre-long and flat cycling trip leads to Kroměříž, running largely away from road traffic. The trip follows cycle paths and paved roads past the Záhlinické ponds and through floodplain forests along the Morava River. Cycle Route 5181 also runs along the railway line through Tlumačov and continues towards Záhlinice.
Transport
Tlumačov railway station is served by railway line 330 between Břeclav and Přerov, as well as line 331 between Otrokovice and Vizovice.
For a specific offer, the included services, price components, and the stated booking and cancellation conditions are decisive. Also check how many people it applies to, what type of accommodation is specified, and whether a total price or individual components are shown. Payment deadlines and differing rules for free cancellation may also matter before booking. This keeps the comparison limited to the service described in each case and its conditions, without anticipating availability or features. It is also possible to check whether the stated occupancy matches your party size, what meals or other services are expressly included, and whether fees are listed separately. The specific conditions of the respective offer remain decisive, not general expectations of a stay in Tlumačov. This makes differences between the individual offers visible based on their conditions.
