Ţânţăreni lies at the transition between the Getic Hills and the Getic Piedmont Plain; at the same time, the municipality is situated along the lower course of the Gilort. The church, museums, rural architectural forms and the regional road connection offer different points of reference for planning a trip.
History
The present-day “Sfinții Voievozi” Church in Ţânţăreni was built between 1800 and 1810 on the foundations of an older church that had been erected during the time of Matei Basarab. The Ţânţăreni Monastery was described during Paul of Aleppo’s journey through the Romanian lands between 1653 and 1658; Greek monks of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem are mentioned in this account. The old community centre of Ţânţăreni includes 19 farmhouses built between 1920 and 1925.
The church, monastery and 19 farmhouses represent three different historical reference points: sacred architecture, monastic tradition and rural architectural forms. Culture

In 2021, 65 children and young people took part every week in the activities of the “Flori de Joc” folklore ensemble at the Ţânţăreni Cultural Centre.
