Landscape

Talea lies in the Subcarpathian zone at the foot of Mount Gurguiatu. Around the village, the hills reach approximately 750 to 900 metres, while the 1,342-metre-high Mount Gurguiatu dominates the hills. The Talea and Bizdidel rivers cross the area of the village. Deciduous and coniferous forests extend around Talea. The village landscape therefore brings different elements together: the heights of the hills, the prominent mountain, the waterways and the wooded surroundings.

Culture and commemoration

The Sfântul Nicolae Church in Talea was built between 1875 and 1878. Its first interior painting was executed in the tempera technique by Hagi Avram Pană from Târgoviște. The church was consecrated on 10 December 1878. The construction period, interior painting and consecration date represent different stages in its creation and provide the church building with a clear chronological context.

The war memorial in Talea commemorates the residents who died on the fronts of the two world wars. The church and the monument thus represent two different historical references within the village: its religious architectural history and the commemoration of those who died in the wars.
