Veľké Pole: Hotels between the Tríbeč and Vtáčnik Mountains
Veľké Pole lies at the transition between the Tríbeč and Vtáčnik mountain ranges. The cadastral area belongs to the Ponitrie Protected Landscape Area and also includes several protected natural areas. The protected limestone cave Veľkopolská jaskyňa and the Sokolec a Skala nature reserve are located here. Different forms of nature and landscape protection therefore meet within the local landscape.

Culture and History
The local history is connected with the Pauline Order from Lefantovce, which founded a monastery in Veľké Pole in 1395. The Roman Catholic church was built around 1511 in the late Gothic style. A chapel built in 1792 stands in front of the church. It commemorates the severe hailstorm that destroyed the entire village.
In the centre of Veľké Pole, near the municipal office, stands the monument “Pomník padlým vojakom”. It commemorates the soldiers who fell in the First World War. The plague column known as “Morový stĺp” is located by the cultural centre. It was erected in 1787 as a sign that the plague had occurred in the municipality. There is also an oak bell tower in the local cemetery next to the funeral parlour; the bell was cast in 2006.
Veľké Pole also has a mining tradition involving the extraction of silver and lead. The combination of monastic history, religious buildings, memorials, and mining represents several distinct historical traces within the village.
