Culture

The oldest monument in Dolné Mladonice is a bell tower dating from 1715, which was converted in 1971 into a church dedicated to the Guardian Angels. Several wooden crosses with flat carved decorations stand in the cemetery of Dolné Mladonice. In the second half of the 19th century, Dolné Mladonice was known for lace-making. Local traditions primarily included the processing of flax and hemp. The surviving place name “Konopiská” refers to former sites used for soaking and further processing hemp. The krekáčsky and horniacky traditional costumes have been preserved, passed down and maintained over the centuries.

History

The oldest surviving written mention of the municipality of Dolné Mladonice dates from 1391. Finds indicate that the municipality of Dolné Mladonice was already inhabited 2,500 to 3,000 years ago.
