Culture and History

The settlement was first mentioned in writing in 1439. As early as 1463, two villages belonging to the Bzovík estate were mentioned. Historic architecture has been preserved in several places in Horné Mladonice. The village's history also includes a serious setback: in 1935, a large part of Horné Mladonice burned down. Jozef Cíger Hronský represents a special cultural connection. The Slovak writer, teacher and editor worked in Horné Mladonice from 1914 to 1916. A memorial plaque was also unveiled for him in the village.
