The historical name Teplica referred to warm springs. In 1757, Teplička nad Váhom was granted the right to hold annual fairs. The market tradition remains a tangible presence at the annual Svätomartinský jarmok. It takes place every year in November at Námestie sv. Floriána in Teplička nad Váhom.
