Kamanová – Castle, Church and Hotels

Kamanová showcases local history in dated documents, sacred buildings and a historic castle. Kamanová was first mentioned in documentary records in 1419 under the historical name Kamanfalva. The castle includes a protected park with exotic trees; it is also a two-storey pseudo-Classical building from the second half of the 19th century. Thus, several clearly described testimonies from different eras stand side by side in Kamanová.

History

The more recent local history can also be traced through specific details. Kamanová's first new school building was erected in 1912. Historic houses in Kamanová were built from unfired adobe bricks and covered with thatched roofs. At Christmas 1970, the first midnight Mass was held in Kamanová's new church. The traditional building methods and the school building thus complement the early documentary mention with examples from the local landscape and community life.

Culture

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Kamanová was consecrated on 14 September 1981. The bell tower of this church was consecrated on 20 September 2009. The church contains a two-manual organ with pedal, catalogued as II / P / 20 (8+8+4). Together with the first midnight Mass in the new church, both the building history and the church-music furnishings are therefore among Kamanová's described cultural features.

At Kamanová Castle, the architectural description and structural condition come together: The two-storey pseudo-Classical building dates from the second half of the 19th century and is surrounded by a protected park with exotic trees. Kamanová Castle is abandoned, falling into disrepair and becoming a ruin.
