From Štrba, a panorama of the High Tatras opens up to the north.
Landscape
A European watershed runs through the Štrba area. It separates drainage towards the Black Sea from drainage towards the Baltic Sea. This describes a geographical line within the municipality, with both directions explicitly connected to these large seas.
Culture
The religious buildings in Štrba include the Protestant church from 1784 and the Roman Catholic Church of Saint Andrew from 1884. The two churches therefore date from different decades of the 18th and 19th centuries, respectively. An original Štrba wooden cottage has also been preserved in Štrba. The log-built structure is listed as a protected cultural monument.
Cultural activities are also associated with specific time periods. The Štrbän folklore ensemble has been active in Štrba for 50 years. Popular poetry festivals have been held in Štrba for 67 years. The two traditions represent different forms of cultural life: the work of a folklore ensemble on the one hand, and regularly held festivals dedicated to poetry on the other.
History
On the outskirts of the municipality of Štrba, along a field path towards Važec, lie the remains of the vanished medieval settlement of Šoldov. Šoldov is an important historical archaeological site. Partially reconstructed buildings of the settlement are located near Šoldov, along with a monument, an information board, and a small seating area.
The local events calendar also includes the municipal day Deň obce Štrba. The municipality of Štrba, in cooperation with the URBÁR Štrba land association and the Štrba agricultural cooperative, invited people to the 25th edition of this event.
Cycling
A section of the cycle path between Štrba and Lučivná was completed in Štrba. This section is part of the cross-border Cesta okolo TATIER cycling route. The specific completed section is thus integrated into a cross-border cycling project, without any further characteristics being stated for the route as a whole.
A rail connection starts directly at the railway station in Štrba.
