In Svit, the 13-kilometre-long Kimbiark educational trail begins at the primary school on Komenského Street. Its route leads through Svit’s historic district to Podskalka, over Mount Bôrik to Mengusovce and back.
Cycling
The Svit–Poprad cycling and inline skating path runs along the Poprad River and its tributary, the Mlynica. It is suitable for beginners and more advanced skaters and cyclists. The HORAL MTB Maratón has been held in Svit without interruption since 2000. The event includes an 18-kilometre family route with an elevation gain of 180 metres.
Another connection is provided by the “Cyklochodníkom do Lopušnej doliny” cycle route. It leads from Poprad through Svit into Lopušná dolina and offers views of the High Tatras and the peaks of the Kozie Chrbty.
Nature
The Baba Nature Reserve covers 205 hectares and is located near Svit. It protects rare plant and animal communities on dolomite substrate. The area also includes a 4-kilometre-long educational trail; the nature reserve lies in the immediate vicinity of the town of Svit.
In Svit, the Plaváreň swimming pool has a 25-metre pool with a water depth of 120 to 180 centimetres. Plaváreň also offers visitors steam baths, a fitness room, massage services and a snack bar.
Culture
The Svit Geopark contains a fossilised fragment of a tree estimated to be 22 million years old. It also displays 43 types of rock from the surrounding area and farther afield. Pupils can compare a geological map with rocks from across Slovakia and touch rock samples.
The Church of St Joseph the Worker was consecrated on 6 July 1991. It has a large interior with an octagonal floor plan. The church and the adjoining parish building are located on the right bank of the Poprad River.
The town’s more recent history includes the so-called Baťova červená kolónia. Its construction began in connection with the construction of the Baťa factory, to house workers and factory employees.
Winter
The Svit – Lopušná dolina ski resort has 1.8 kilometres of ski slopes, all of which are covered with artificial snow. Evening skiing is possible on 930 metres of illuminated slopes. There are also 3 kilometres of groomed cross-country ski trails.
