Hotels in Hodoš: Protestant Church, Watchtower and Hodoško jezero
Hodoš can be understood through several clearly distinguishable features of the town. Dates, construction methods, uses and geographical references give each stop its own significance. Culture and nature are not presented as abstract themes side by side; instead, they become tangible through specific buildings, paths, water sources and a viewing structure.
Culture
The Protestant Church of Hodoš is at the heart of the town’s culture. It houses a mechanical, two-manual organ dating from 1905 with 11 stops. The Protestant parish of Hodoš is the only one in Slovenia in which Protestants continued to adhere to their faith even after 1732. The present-day Protestant Church of Hodoš was completed in 1843.
History
Another part of the town’s history is reflected in a Pannonian well. On the road from Hodoš to Dolenci, at the turnoff to Szalafő, stands a roughly 150-year-old Pannonian well. The six-metre-deep well in Hodoš, built of bricks and wood, was restored in 2007. Before the construction of the public water supply, villagers and border guards from a nearby border post used the water from the well in Hodoš. The well can therefore be understood not only through its appearance but also through the former function of its water.
Another facet of the townscape is the Hodoš Watchtower. It is an approximately 15-metre-high iron structure near the Slovenian-Hungarian border. Stairs at the Hodoš Watchtower lead to a platform with a covered observation post. From the watchtower’s covered observation post, there is a view across the valley of the Velika Krka.
Nature
The Vidrin paradiž educational trail runs around Hodoško jezero. An educational trail with information boards, a rest area and a spring with healthy drinking water was established around Hodoško jezero in 2005. Hodoško jezero is an important habitat for Eurasian otters. These elements describe the lake both as a setting for an educational trail and as a habitat.
Compare these points directly on the respective offer page and make sure that all cost components are clearly stated. This comparison is particularly useful when planning on a budget, as the total price may consist of several components. The conditions of the individual offer remain decisive. Included services, possible additional costs, and booking and cancellation conditions can also be compared. Pay attention to the specific terms and conditions stated for each offer and do not infer any unstated characteristics of the accommodation. You can also check how many people an offer is listed for, which type of accommodation is specified and which services are actually included in the price. If total prices differ, it is worth looking at the individual price components as well as the deadlines and conditions for changes or cancellation. This ensures that the information on the respective offer page remains the basis for the comparison.
