Culture and History
St. Stephen's Church in Ribnica contains an altarpiece of Saint Stephen from 1901 by Ivan Grohar. Its two bell towers bear the designation „Ribnica crowns“ and are considered the last work of Jože Plečnik.
Ribnica Castle has stood in the centre of Ribnica since at least 1263. The Museum of Ribnica in the castle features permanent and temporary craft exhibitions; the castle tower also houses a permanent exhibition on the witch trials of Ribnica.
The Škrabec Homestead in Hrovača is the birthplace of the Franciscan friar Stanislav Škrabec. Guided tours can be arranged there by prior agreement. The Miklova Hiša Gallery houses an art collection in Ribnica featuring works from the 1980s and 1990s.

The Ricikel bicycle rental system is available around the clock in the Municipality of Ribnica. It provides around eight conventional bicycles in front of the Zdravstveni dom health centre and the Zadružni dom cooperative centre in Ribnica.

Nature and Landscape
The source of the Ribnica River can be reached via a family-friendly forest trail. St. Anne's Church is a 16th-century church on the Mala gora ridge at an altitude of 920 metres. Bele stene is an almost 60-metre-high limestone cliff designated as a natural monument.
The 887-metre-high Grmada hill above the village of Vrh pri Poljanah is a popular hiking destination. A mountain hut that is open at weekends lies a few metres below the summit; the path there follows the „Trail to Grmada“ hiking trail. At 1,254 metres above sea level, Turn is the highest peak of Velika gora.
Mount Velika Gora, Mount Črni Vrh, Mount Debeli Vrh and Mount Mala Gora are each located in the area surrounding the Municipality of Ribnica. The „Ribnica Fishing Club“ manages six fishing waters in the Ribnica area.
