Nature
The Tajan protected area is located near Zavidovići and Kakanj in Zenica-Doboj Canton and covers 4,948.35 hectares. It encompasses a mountainous area with exceptional geological, biological, and scenic diversity and is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts as well as for hiking, cycling, and other outdoor activities. The area includes numerous mountain peaks, gorges, caves, sinkholes, stone bridges with caves, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, and karst springs. More than 100 speleological features have been discovered within the nature monument.
The shores of Lake Mašica are surrounded by dense forest and feature developed walking paths, barbecue areas, and shelters.
