Water and landscape

Šlapanice stretches along both banks of the Vranský potok, which flows through the center of Šlapanice. The local body of water includes Šlapanický rybník, covering an area of 11.7 hectares. It was created in 1750 and was formerly called Červený rybník.

Šlapanický rybník is used for fishing; walks in nature are also possible there. Parking directly by the water is possible on both banks.

History and architectural heritage

Šlapanice is mentioned in written historical sources in 1318. A later testament to the history of the village is the Chapel of Saint Florian, which was solemnly consecrated on May 7, 1854.

The Čertův mlýn granary complex was built in 1751 and still stands today on the road from Šlapanice to Budeničky. Filip Count Kinský had a third wing added to the chateau in Budenice in 1748. From 1765 onward, Jan Josef Count Kinský had the interiors of the chateau in Budenice extensively remodeled.
