Cernosice: Hotels and accommodations
Černošice first presents itself on the Berounka as a waterside town: the municipal bathing area Městská pláž Černošice lies below the Mokropsy weir and is used for swimming, sunbathing, and sports. The bathing area also has a beach volleyball court and a pétanque area.
Černošice railway station is located on line 171 between Prague and Beroun.
Water and activities
Černošice-Mokropsy has a skatepark and a BMX racing track. They are suitable for freestyle BMX, freestyle MTB, skateboarding, and inline skating. In addition to the activities at the bathing area, this means there are also dedicated sports facilities for various forms of riding and skating.
Landscape
Černošice lies on the boundary of the Český kras Protected Landscape Area. The Staňkovka nature reserve is also located near Černošice. It encompasses the steep, wooded left slope of the Berounka valley on the edge of the Třebotovská plošina between Radotín, Sulava hill, which is 341.6 m high, and Černošice.
Culture and architectural history
The Fröhlichova summer villa at Střední 360 was designed by Jan Kotěra in 1902–1903. As one of Kotěra’s early works, it combines influences from contemporary English villa architecture with traditional Czech folk art. The Kratochvílova villa at Karlštejnská 282 is one of the most significant buildings in Černošice and was built in 1908–1909 to a design by architect Jan Kotěra.
The medieval Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Černošice has been modified many times; a radical alteration took place at the beginning of the 18th century. It is a single-nave, oriented building with a right-angled, set-back chancel and a prismatic tower with a polygonal termination on the central axis of the façade.
Myslivna Na Stráži is a small rondocubist building from 1924, constructed according to a design by the builder Ing. Otakar Nypl. The villa at Střední 403 is a two-storey, early Secession villa by the architect Osvald Polívka.
Events and winter
Sportpark Berounka is a freely accessible grass area by the river next to the cycle route. It is used for recreation and hosting events. The traditional Mariánská pouť begins on the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, on Saturday, 15 August. On 15 and 16 August, there is a programme of music and theatre, a fair, and amusement rides in front of the church and in the sports park.
From 27 September 2023, times for public skating were reserved at Zimní stadion Černošice on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons.
