Dubno: Hotels and Accommodation

Motýlí step Pichce is a significant landscape feature on land belonging to the municipality of Dubno. Its southern slope contains diverse steppe and forest-steppe habitats that transition into wet meadows at the foot. These diverse habitats are home to more than 50 species of diurnal butterflies. Walkers, cyclists and riders are welcome at Motýlí step Pichce; motocross has also been legalised there.

Fishing has been prohibited at the Pazderák pond in Dubno due to high temperatures.

Culture and History

Construction of the chapel in Dubno began and ended in 1893; the interior furnishings were completed in 1894. During a comprehensive renovation in 2008, the roof, including the roof structure, was renewed, the stained-glass windows were restored, and the exterior façade was executed in the style and colours of the original chapel.

The place name Dubno is documented as Duben in 1298, as Dubna in 1390 and as Dubno from 1555 onwards. Dubno is also mentioned in a confirmation issued by Bishop Řehoř in 1298, confirming the payment of certain tithes to the parish priest Vojslav in Příbram.

The municipal chronicle of Dubno from 1938–1958 and the chronicle of the nine-year primary school from 1945–1965 can be viewed online. The Brána passage was historically part of the so-called Golden Trail between Prague and České Budějovice and has been made passable throughout again.

Events and Infrastructure

The multi-purpose sports field in Dubno was built in 2016. The sports field can be reserved by SMS; the telephone number provided for this purpose is +420 778 956 625. In autumn 2023, a footbridge over the Kocába was completed in Dubno.

A building was constructed in the outdoor swimming pool complex in Dubno as infrastructure for events held there. The traditional Pálení čarodějnic festival, the Burning of the Witches, takes place in the outdoor swimming pool complex. A traditional Children's Day is also held there; a Children's Day had been announced there for 7 June 2026.
