The children’s festival in Krychnov is one of the town’s most important traditional cultural events. Another specific clue is provided by the find known as “Krychnov 1930”: J. Pýcha discovered it while ploughing a field at Na klínku.
Culture and history
At the centre of Krychnov stands the Chapel of the Virgin Mary at a road junction. The gate of Farm No. 25 in Krychnov is a protected immovable cultural monument in the Czech Republic. The monument to those who fell in the First World War in Krychnov is a sandstone monument dating from 1918.
The Krychnov hoard comprised a gilded silver tankard and a gilded silver beaker; it includes 109 surviving coins from Bohemia and other countries in Western Europe dating from 1575 to 1625. From 16 to 21 June 1757, Marshal Daun established his headquarters in Krychnov before the Battle of Kolín.
