Chomutice: Hotels and Accommodation
Culture and History
The present-day Church of St. Diviš in Chomutice was built in 1782 to replace a wooden church that was more than 300 years old. The single-nave, oriented building has a projecting prismatic tower and a three-sided apse.
The older history of the village includes fortified manors that originally stood there, with adjoining farmyards; settlements developed around them in the 14th century. A contemporary event associated with the area was the lighting of the Christmas tree held in Chomutice on 23 November 2024. The programme included a nativity scene exhibition. Seasonal food and drinks were sold there, including honey, wine, cider, chocolate, Christmas pastries, live fish and meat dishes.
Nature and Landscape
The protected natural monument Javorka a Cidlina - Sběř covers the cadastral areas of Chomutice and Obora u Chomutic. The protected area preserves populations of the thick-shelled river mussel and the dusky large blue butterfly, as well as flowing-water habitats and adjacent meadows.
