The Naučná stezka K. J. Erbena is designed as an entertaining and educational trail for adults and children and has nine checkpoints. The route offers beautiful views of Podzvičinsko. Miletínské lázně are one of the stops along the trail. The Church of the Annunciation is also visited by tourists and other visitors to Miletin during hikes on the Naučná stezka K. J. Erbena.

Culture

The Muzeum českého amatérského divadla displays a collection of painted stage curtains. Visitors can step onto the stage and try out the basic technical facilities of a theater. The museum also documents the development of Czech amateur theater, from the fundamental sources of folk theater and the National Revival through the heyday of amateur theater around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries to amateur theater today.

Free tours of the Church of the Annunciation can be arranged by prior agreement. The Klášterní sklepení is the only surviving remnant of a dilapidated fortress and an abandoned monastery of the Order of the Teutonic Knights. It comprises two halls carved into the rock, separated by stone Gothic portals, as well as brick-built, vaulted stairways and a narrow corridor leading toward a well.

History

Miletínská věž was originally the eastern main gate of a monastery and was raised to three stories in 1586. It is not accessible to the public; only on event days, such as during a fair or pilgrimage, does it form part of a tour of all the town’s sights.

Epopej Miletína is a 5.5-meter-high bronze sculpture in Na Parkáni Park and an artistic interpretation of the first written mention of Miletin. It represents four symbolic milestones in the history of Miletin.

Local Specialty

Karel Erben resumed production of Miletínské modlitbičky after the restitution in 1991, following the original recipe, and continues to produce them to this day.
