Podůlší is located on the eastern side of Brada Hill. The road from Jičín to Turnov divides the municipality into Horní Podůlší and Dolní Podůlší.

Culture and History

A statue of the Holy Trinity is located in Dolní Podůlší and is considered an important cultural monument.

In the Battle of Podůlší on 29 June 1866, the main forces involved were the Prussian Infantry Regiment No. 48 and units of the Austrian Poschacher Brigade, including the II Battalion and three companies of the Imperial and Royal 34th Infantry Regiment, as well as one company of the Imperial 30th Infantry Regiment.

The Podůlší theatre curtain from 1927 depicts the municipality with Brada, a hill, and a small church in the background, as well as a portrait of Svatopluk Čech, the patron of the theatre association. The curtain was restored and declared a cultural monument in 1994.
