Boháňka: Hotels and accommodation

Boháňka lies at the foot of Chlumský vrch. To the north, there are views of Zvičina and, beyond it, the Krkonoše Mountains; hiking and cycling routes pass through the village.

Culture and history

A Jan Hus monument from 1915, based on a design by František Bílek, stands in the village. The sculptures in the Boháňka open-air sculpture exhibition are carved from hard sandstone from the KUKS quarry. About 300 metres from the village of Skála lies the Třebovětický Rondell; it is a protected monument and protected by law.

An old stone cross stands at a crossroads near the Boháňka school building. The historic cross stone is considered a Cyril and Methodius cross; the year 830 can be seen on its front. In the forest northeast of Boháňka stands a cross stone traditionally referred to as an expiation cross. The wayside shrine at the crossroads of the roads between Chloumek, Maňovice and Skála is usually dated to the 16th century.

The hills of Vinice [Bílé Poličany] and Nad Lysicí [Cerekvice nad Bystřicí] are located in the immediate surroundings of Boháňka. The hill [Velký Vřešťov], considered the site of a former castle, is also located in the immediate surroundings of Boháňka. In the wider regional area are Maxinec Mountain (MLázovický chlum) and the Lázně church.

Routes and places

The Boháňka open-air sculpture exhibition lies along a yellow-marked hiking trail and is part of the international Cesta kamene route. The open-air gallery of the student sculpture symposium is a tourist stop in Boháňka. The Boháňka–Skála summer cinema is located in a natural amphitheatre.
