Šárovcova Lhota: Hotels and Accommodation

The Javorka River flows through Šárovcova Lhota between Lázně Bělohrad and Ostroměř. Every year, between the end of April and the beginning of May, the Sjezd Javorky takes place on this river as a downriver race; the event was first held in 2001.

Routes and Events

Hiking route no. 11 from Šárovcova Lhota is 6 km long. It is unsuitable for cyclists because its first section leads through the forest along an unpaved path. At a pavilion on the road from Ostroměř, this route passes the Hladoměř plague cross from 1763. A green-marked hiking trail also runs through Šárovcova Lhota towards Ostroměř and Lázně Bělohrad. From the “View of the Bohemian Paradise” lookout bench, the ruins of Trosky can be seen between the trees.

The Memoriál Václava Dobeše Šárovcova Lhota–Zvičina mountain race is included in the Czech Mountain Running Cup and originated more than 40 years ago on a whim and for fun.

Culture and History

The Mlázovice–Šárovcova Lhota memorial stone from 1817 has been protected as an immovable cultural monument since 15 August 2020. Another memorial stone from 1817 on the road from Šárovcova Lhota to the Mezihoří settlement commemorates the founding of a forest.

The monument to Alois Jirásek was ceremonially unveiled on 17 July 1921. The bust of the writer Alois Jirásek below the Libín settlement was designed by Jan Štursa and carved in sandstone by Jan Kyselo. Gregorův hostinec is a two-storey log house built around 1866 beside a path in the lower part of the settlement.

Hrádek covered an area of 170 × 140 metres and was fortified on its eastern side by a rampart and ditch. During the season, guided tours with expert commentary are held at the round Cihelna brickworks by prior arrangement. The exhibition in Cihelna includes copies of original drawings, wooden brick moulds, a steel turntable for brick wagons, wooden supports and a wooden lifting device that is still in working order.
