Úlibice: Hotels and Accommodations

Úlibice can be explored through its architectural and local history as well as through a protected natural area. The combination of historical traces, regional landscape, and named destinations in the wider surroundings remains clearly comprehensible.

Culture and History

The present-day Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary was built between 1712 and 1716. It was first mentioned as a parish church in a description of the Prague Diocese from 1344 to 1350; since February 7, 1994, it has been protected as a heritage monument.

At the northern edge of Úlibice stand a reconciliation cross and Boží muka u Úlibic, a landscape-defining feature dating from 1767. Traces of a former fortress can still be seen on the hill near the church. Boží muka u Úlibic also offers a view of part of Český ráj.

Natural Area

Úlibická bažantnice is a nature reserve first designated on July 4, 1956. It is a preserved remnant of a hardwood floodplain forest in the area between Polabí and Podkrkonoší.

Úlibická bažantnice lies away from all marked hiking and cycling trails and is not used for recreation or sport.

Surroundings and Trails

The mountains Maxinec (MLázovický chlum), Přivýšina, Tábor, and Střelečská hůra are located in the surroundings of Úlibice. In the wider regional area are the churches of Valdštejn and Lázně.

No marked hiking route passes through Úlibice. The roads from Jičín toward Nová Paka or Hořice are cited as the easiest access routes.
