Ostružno: Hotels and Accommodation
Among Ostružno’s most distinctive natural features are the Ostruženské rybníky ponds. The natural monument lies partly within the cadastral area of Ostružno and is one of the most important resting places for migratory waterbirds in the region. Around 80 specially protected species, along with other significant species, have been recorded in the ponds.
Nature and Landscape
The Svatá Anna natural monument also extends into the cadastral area of Ostružno. Svatá Anna Hill was formed by volcanic activity around 17 million years ago. A chapel commissioned by Count Šlik around 1670 gave it its name and was also part of the planned Baroque landscape design.
The Přivýšina and Střelečská hůra mountains are located in the vicinity of Ostružno. Mount Tábor is situated near the village. The wider regional surroundings include Maxinec Mountain (MLázovický chlum) and Valdštejn Church.
Culture and History
An important building directly in Ostružno is the Church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross. It is one of the most significant and largest late Baroque buildings in the region.
Regional Route
Regional Route 4079 runs from Jičín to Sobotka and passes through Ostružno. In the field, it can be identified by colored markings between yellow stripes.
