Nature and Paths

The summit of Vinice Hill is a significant viewpoint and a destination for excursions. Vinice, a popular excursion destination, is easily accessible on foot, including via the red-marked hiking trail. At the same time, there is no vineyard, restaurant, or viewpoint at today's excursion destination of Vinice.

The 8 km-long Podzvičinska 4131 Maňovice–Zábřezí cycle route runs through Bílé Poličany; it has an elevation gain of approximately 120 m. The route is part of a system of 23 marked routes that connect to existing cycle routes in the Hradec Králové Region.

History and Culture

In 1949, when Bílé Poličany Château belonged to Czechoslovak Radio, established and aspiring employees of Czechoslovak Radio stayed there. The former music salon in the English park was converted into the Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. In the English park, next to the fountain, stands a sandstone sculpture of a satyr. The former chapel pavilion is now used mainly as a storage building.

Local Details

The sundial on house no. 33 is located 2.4 metres above the ground and is 1 metre in size. A simple plague column on the road running through Bílé Poličany bears the year 1729 and commemorates a year of plague in which many local families died.

A prayer text to Saint John of Nepomuk is engraved in the gable of the niche chapel: “G Jenne Nepomůcký patrone náš milý blaženče Český oroduj za náss.” A niche chapel in Bílé Poličany formerly housed a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.
