Řeka: Hotels and accommodations

Řeka is a mountain village in deep valleys beneath wooded ridges of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. A considerable part of the Řeka municipality lies within the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area.

Landscape

At the northern edge of Řeka, beside the main road, lies the Godula quarry at the eastern foot of the 738-metre-high Godula mountain. The Godula quarry is registered as a geologically interesting site and lies within the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area. It exposes the middle section of the Godula Formation and appears to be the most suitable type locality for this formation.

Hiking

The NS Stezka pokladů Godula educational trail starts in Řeka, is 4.7 kilometres long and is classified as a moderately difficult hiking route. The trail focuses on the stone, forest and bird treasures, as well as the treasure of the robber Ondráš and the treasure of faith. During the summer months, Řeka is suitable for hikes through the quiet part of the Beskids. Frequent excursions from Řeka lead towards the Slavíč chalet.

Culture and history

Two traditional wooden houses in Řeka are protected monuments. The traditionally accepted year of Řeka's foundation is 1644; the village was established by separating it from Smilovice and the estate.
