Buk: Hotels and Accommodation

In the centre of Buk stands the “Chapel of Saint Urban”, a Baroque vernacular building dating from the mid-18th century. The chapel is situated on a slight hill and can be reached via seven slate steps. Its square floor plan ends in a semicircular apse; its distinctive design also includes a hexagonal lantern.

Culture and History

In front of house no. 35 stands a Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from the mid-18th century. The school building in Buk also bears a historic memorial: a plaque commemorating those who fell in the First World War. Buk was first mentioned in writing in 1275; the document names Vlk of Buk as a witness. In 1375, Franc of Kunovic owned the estate in Buk. In 1668, Buk was joined to the Rokytnice estate.

Routes

The “Cyril and Methodius Pilgrimage Route” reaches Buk after passing under the railway line and continues through Buk to Lazníky.

The “Na chmelnici Hané” cycle route leads to Buk via Radvanice; overall, it runs from Přerov via Kokory, Žeravice, Lhotka, Tršice, Výkleky, Vicínov, Radvanice, Buk and Prosenice back to Přerov.
