Horní Ředice brings together local history, landscapes, and local leisure activities.
Culture and History
The present-day Church of St. Wenceslas in Horní Ředice was consecrated on September 28, 1863. It served both Horní Ředice and Dolní Ředice; both municipalities contributed equally to its construction. Together with the wooden bell tower, it dominates the surrounding area. The cemetery by the church includes a wooden bell tower with three bells; the largest dates from 1616. Remains of the former fortifications of the churchyard are visible on the western side.
The chapel in Horní Ředice dates from 1836 and was reconstructed in 2003 by the Lubomír Váša Restoration Atelier. The Ředice archaeological burial site contains finds dating back to the Bronze Age.
Landscape
Hořaník, the eastern peak of the Hořánka hill, is 265 m high and offers views of the Loučná Valley and as far as the Železné hory Mountains. A field path leads from the Church of St. Wenceslas via Farský kopec to the Hořánka hill. North of Horní Ředice, in the immediate vicinity of the village, lies the Žernov Nature Reserve; it includes ponds, reed beds, and wet meadows.
Leisure and Sports
Horní Ředice has two sand tennis courts, where tennis tournaments and a summer tennis school are held regularly. The multipurpose sports field by the primary school can be used for floorball, nohejbal, tennis, volleyball, and many other ball sports.
The reconstructed miniature golf course near the community hall has 13 holes and is located by a stream with seating areas. In the Blanka area, there is a 180 m long running track and a 60 m straight section with a long-jump facility. Two training exercise stations and seating for walkers are located on the dam of Ředický rybník.
Events
The Prvomájový cyklovýlet is a recurring event in Horní Ředice and takes place on May 1. Gulášožraní takes place in Horní Ředice on June 6, 2026.
