Spojil: Circular Trail, Apolenka and Village Square
A short circular trail around Spojil passes the Vesecký kopec natural monument, known for its protected plants and interesting terrain.
Nature
The area around Spojil invites you to go for walks and collect mushrooms in the nearby forest. For day planning, you can compare the character of the route and the activities in the forest separately.
Routes
The Spojil Circuit is 6.5 kilometres long and runs mainly along unpaved paths and asphalt. The route begins near the Apolenka farm and leads along forest paths to the edge of Spojil. Via K Hájovně Street, it can continue through the village centre with its chapel. A cycling or hiking route connects Černá za Bory via Spojil and Sezemice with Pardubice or Kunětická hora. When planning the route, you can weigh up the length, surface and possible continuation side by side.
The information on length and surface makes the character of the route easy to compare at a glance. The possible continuation through the village centre can also be considered separately from the connection via forest paths. This keeps the circular trail, continuation and onward route recognisable as distinct sections.
Activities
The Sportovní areál in Spojil is a multifunctional sports and cultural facility for local residents and the general public. The Statek Apolenka in Spojil is open to the public every day. At the Statek, visitors can see ordinary farm animals such as horses, cows and sheep, as well as exotic animals such as llamas, ostriches and coatis. The children's playground at the Statek is available to all visitors. Apolenka's dairy produces milk, cheese, kefir, yoghurt and whey drinks from high-quality cow's milk and sells these products.
Culture
Two large stones on Spojil's village square commemorate the former Spojil and Strejček ponds. There are also two memorial lime trees, one from 1946 and the younger one from 2008. The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands on the same village square. Spojil was established towards the end of the 18th century on the site of the former Spojil and Strejček ponds.
Events and Transport
The children's cycling race “Spojilská míle pro Mílu” was held for the fifth time in 2020; it had also been held in each of the four preceding years. In 2000, Spojil was included in a tourist brochure as a destination for trips and pleasant walks. The Spojilské posvícení was scheduled to take place in 2017 as an annual local festival. Pardubice bus line 9 had served Spojil since 1992; its operation continued at that time as well.
