Kukle: Hotels and Accommodation
Geographical location
On the outskirts of Kukle, next to a bus stop, there is a boundary stone between Moravia and Bohemia bearing the year 2008. The site of the 2008 boundary stone includes an information board with photographs and a map of Kukle. In the centre of the village, the Turistické rozcestí Kukle is located next to a bus stop on the main road from Svitavy to Litomyšl. The European watershed between the Black Sea and the North Sea also runs through Kukle.
History and culture
Near Kukle, the Českomoravské pomezí educational trail has an information board about the military confrontation between Austrian and Prussian troops in 1866. The Trstěnická trail probably ran through what is now Kukle. The Mariotereziánské kameny in Kukle mark the historic border between Bohemia and Moravia and are decorated with a royal crown and a bishop’s mitre. On the left side of the Svitavy–Litomyšl road in Kukle stands an iron cross on a stone pedestal with a figure of Christ.
The Památník včelích matek in the Brand forest complex in the cadastral area of the municipality of Kukle commemorates an almost forgotten regional beekeeping tradition and is a regionally significant work of architectural and tourist interest.
Hiking trails
A green-marked hiking trail runs through Kukle from the bus stop in Vendolí to U pramenů Svitavy. From the Turistické rozcestí Kukle, a green-marked hiking trail passes boundary stones, crosses the Na stráni hill and the locality of U Svaté Trojice and Ostrý Kámen, and continues to Vendolí railway station. In the opposite direction, the same green-marked hiking trail leads past further boundary stones to the U pramene Svitavy signpost.
Nature
Louka u Kukle is a registered significant landscape feature and a wet meadow. It is home to creeping willow, broad-leaved marsh orchid, a sedge species, narrow-leaved cottongrass, globe thistle and water avens.
Rybníček is a small forest pond in the vicinity of Kukle with water lilies, a shelter, benches and numerous animal figures carved from wood.
Events
The Pískohraní family festival was held for the eighth time near Svitavy, by Kukle, at the Lesní klub pro děti Napísek.
