Radkov: Hotels and Accommodations

Radkovské hradisko is a significant medieval and High Medieval archaeological site in the cadastral area of Gruna, south of Radkov. The types recorded there include a fortification, a stronghold, and a hilltop settlement.

Archaeology and Local History

Radkovské hradisko is more than 200 m long and 70 m wide. The forecourt of “Radkovské hradisko” was protected by a 60 m long and 280 cm thick shield wall. In the second half of the 13th century, the fortified small town of Radkov was founded with a small castle site. Of the fortified settlement of Radkov and its fortifications, a ditch carved into the rock, up to 30 m wide, is still visible in the terrain today.

The Dolní Mill, Fleckův mlýn, is also part of the traditional local history: it was first mentioned in 1680 under the name “Rottendorf mühle – Radkovský mlýn.” In 1835, it consisted of a masonry mill building with two wheels powered by a millrace on the right bank of the Třebůvka. Radkov has original farmsteads and farmhouses preserved to varying degrees. Preserved bell towers are also found in Radkov and neighboring Rozstání.

Water and Landscape

Radkov lies on the Třebůvka River. Mount Husák is located in the vicinity of Radkov, while the Doubravice hill [Rozstání] is in the immediate surroundings. In the wider regional surroundings of Radkov are Mount Skalka, Mount Cukrová Bouda, Hrad Brníčko Castle, the monument “Pomník obětem 1. a 2. světové války,” the church “Kaple Panny Marie Lurdské,” and the church “Kaple Panny Marie.”

Marked cycle route No. 506 leads from Moravská Třebová to Městečko Trnávka via Linhartice, Radkov, and Rozstání. Cycle route No. 4043 leads from Radkovské hradisko via Gruna and Žipotín to Nad Svojanovem.
