Hojsova Stráž: Hotels and Accommodation

Section Z7–Z11 of the Hojsova Stráž educational trail runs from Prenet to Hojsova Stráž and can also be cycled; at the same time, it features challenging climbs and descents. Hojsova Stráž can be reached by bus via the Železná Ruda, Hojsova Stráž stop.

Trails and Mountains

The hiking route from Hojsova Stráž to Můstek follows a ridge trail and a red-marked hiking route to Můstek at an elevation of 1,234.6 metres. The mountain is located in the immediate vicinity of Hojsova Stráž and is the highest point of the excursion; from there, there are good views to the east and west. Jezerní hora is also located in the immediate vicinity. The mountains Pancíř and Lovečná are located in the vicinity of Hojsova Stráž.

Nature

The naturally developing herbaceous and woody plant communities in the Brčálnické mokřady, as well as plant and animal species dependent on extensive agricultural use, are protected.

Culture

The information boards along the Hojsova Stráž educational trail also describe religious monuments. The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary in Hojsova Stráž was built in 1824–1826 on the site of a wooden chapel that had stood there since 1761. After its restoration, the painting of Saint Kunhuta was returned to the Chapel of Saint Kunhuta in Prenet.

The Šumava Astronomical Clock in Hojsova Stráž is a five-metre-high wooden tower with several astronomical dials. It stands on the main road in the centre of Hojsova Stráž and is freely accessible at no charge. The Frauenau Museum, Glass Museum, is located in the wider regional area around Hojsova Stráž. The Neunussberg castle ruins are also located in this wider regional area.
