Culture and History
The ruins of the Church of St. John the Baptist have been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic since 1992. In 2000, they were designed as the “Cave of Hell” and a setting for the film Z pekla štěstí 2 by director Zdeněk Troška.
The village square is home to the Zvonička in Kočov, a simple municipal bell tower. It consists of two wooden posts, has a pyramid-shaped roof covered with wooden shingles, and a bell suspended beneath the roof. At the same time, it is a valuable small example of village furnishings from the second half of the 19th century.
