Lesná: Hotels and Accommodation
Lesná is a place where nature observation, educational trails and local history are closely intertwined. The entire municipal area of Lesná belongs to the Český les Nature Park. The Lesná cadastral area also contains the Podkovák Nature Reserve, which protects a small raised bog with stands of bog pine across 5.6 ha.
Educational Trails
The Lesná Educational Trail begins directly in Lesná. It is a one-way loop trail approximately 11.3 km long with 10 stops. It covers the area’s earlier settlement, natural features and forest management, and is suitable for walkers and cyclists.
The Vodnà svÄ›t Educational Trail begins behind Lesná in the direction of Stará KnÞecà HuÅ¥ and is approximately 2 km long. Its main attraction is a beaver observation point with a direct view of a beaver lodge. At another pond along the trail, a wooden footbridge allows visitors to observe aquatic invertebrates and amphibians.
The Podkovák Educational Trail can be reached by leaving the car at a turn-off onto a forest road on the Lesná–Stará KnÞecà HuÅ¥ road, approximately 500 m from Lesná, and then following the green hiking trail. At the end of the educational trail there is a covered rest shelter overlooking the peat bog lakes. The Podkovák Educational Trail has been completely renovated; the boardwalk, benches and bicycle racks were replaced as part of the renovation.
Culture and History
The Glassmaking Educational Trail begins in Stará KnÞecà HuÅ¥, is a loop trail approximately 6.3 km long and has 13 stops. In the surroundings of Stará KnÞecà HuÅ¥ and HuÅ¥ský rybnÃk, it presents the history of glassmaking, settlement and the nature of ÄŒeský les.
The Church of St. Nicholas in Lesná contains an iconostasis transferred from an Orthodox chapel in Prague-Dejvice. Havran (894 m) was formerly a site for radio-technical intelligence gathering by the intelligence administration of the Czechoslovak People’s Army during the Cold War.
