Mrtník: Hotels and Accommodation
Mrtník combines an annual masked Masopust procession with a villagescape in which historic farmsteads and traditional architectural elements have been preserved. In the northwestern part, historic farmsteads with old gate structures have retained their original character. A historic wooden gable can be seen on House No. 7.
Culture and Villagescape
The municipal coat of arms also refers to the history of the village: three silver hills commemorate the kaolin that was once mined in the village area.
Hiking and Cycling
In cooperation with local associations, the winter hike “Mrtnická šlapka” takes place in Mrtník every year. The 11th edition of this hike took place there on December 27, 2025. For cyclists, the 54 km cycling route “Do lesů plných borůvek” passes through the Mrtník turnoff.
Na Výsluní Complex
The Na Výsluní Complex offers refreshments, sanitary facilities, and a children’s playground. The fire-water reservoir may be used for swimming at your own risk. Children’s events are held there every year, including an Easter egg hunt, a Children’s Day celebration, an end-of-school-holidays event, and a kite-flying event.
Nature and Transport
Forests cover about half of Mrtník’s cadastral area. The village is connected to public transport by bus; there is no railway connection.
