Předslav: Hotels and Accommodation

The history of Předslav includes the Church of St. James the Greater, where František Palacký was married in 1827. The oldest written mention of the church dates back to 1325; the church is designated as a protected monument.

Culture and History

The Tvrz Fortress in Předslav was probably built as a water castle in the 14th century and is first mentioned in 1483. During the Renaissance, it was converted into a small château and expanded in the Baroque style in the mid-18th century.

The Sokolovna in Předslav was ceremonially opened on January 29, 1923. It stands on the remains of a former local fortress and is now used for various sporting and cultural events.

The Chapel of St. Apolena in Předslav is a simply designed Baroque chapel dating from 1726.

The family tomb of the Měchura family is located along the northern boundary wall of the cemetery in Předslav. Around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, it was moved here from a former cemetery chapel that had been decommissioned, and it is the final resting place of the composer Leopold Eugen Měchura.

Cycling

The approximately 42 km-long cycling tour “Z Klatov za romantikou do Žinkov” leads from Měčín via Předslav to Točník.
